My latest personal project, all aspects done by me, from modelling to lighting and compo. The biggest challenge was the hair, being my first time using xGen. And on top of that, I learned many new things that will improve my workflow in future projects.
I sculpted the t-pose mesh in zbrush, retopo in maya, made the high poly in zbrush again to get the displacement. After that I textured in substance painter and did the shading in arnold maya. Later, I did the grooming using xgen core and posed my model in zbrush to create a blendshape in maya. Then it was time for the backgroud assets, and the final step was a proper lighting and some compo to make her pop into the scene.
This character is based on a concept by Maria Yi, from the early stages of the movie Turning Red. It would have been so cool to see this character on the screen with such attitude.
